Latest audit shows Newsquest websites increase reach as audience turns to smart phones and tablets.

Newsquest Media Group today released its July-December 2011 website audit which reveals that a monthly average of 8,306,468 unique visitors accessed its network of 158 local media brand sites – year-on-year growth of 11.5% (Jul-Dec 2010: 7,450,271).

Roger Green, Digital Media Managing Director for Newsquest Media Group said: “In December we launched a new version of our mobile site network to meet the growing appetite of smart phone users for up-to-the-minute news and local travel information."

He added: “Users who access our content on the move are increasingly making repeat visits to our sites helping us to grow our page views by more than 31 million during the audit period.”

Newsquest operates one of the most-visited networks of any UK news publisher. According to Comscore in January 2012 the Newsquest group of sites was the UK’s fourth most visited in the News/Information category after the Mail Online, The Guardian and The Telegraph and ahead of other regional media groups.
