Display Commercial Manager
Ryan is responsible for growing Newsquest Digital national revenue. Ryan joined Newsquest in 2003, initially as part of the regional press team.
He has been working on the digital team since 2006. Ryan progressed from Sales executive to Account Manager and in May 2010 was promoted to his current role, Display Commercial Manager.
Ryan enjoys family time and playing football, he is a massive Tottenham Hotspur fan.
Programmatic Trading Manager
Nikki joined the national sales team in September 2010 as a sales executive, and was promoted to account manager in 2012. As of January 2013 Nikki is responsible for developing and expanding the national digital revenue within the programmatic market via advertising exchanges, as part of Ryan Canty's team. Nikki joined Newsquest's DESC team in High Wycombe as a recruitment sales executive in May 2010, successfully exceeded expectations and was the 1st sales person of the month at DESC before being promoted to join the digital team at Brettenham House in September 2010.
Before working at Newsquest, Nikki studied at the University of Sheffield and received a BA in English Literature. Nikki enjoys gigs, socialising and travel.
Denise joined the team in January 2011 as a sales executive and was promoted to account manager in 2012. Denise is responsible for developing and expanding the national digital revenue as part Ryan Canty's team. Denise started with Newsquest back in August 2000, as a Sales Rep, on Sutton Guardian classified services. From there Denise moved to the entertainment section and soon progressed to Entertainment Team Leader. After several years as Team Leader, Denise decided to move to the Recruitment team, starting back as a Sales Rep. After a year or so, Denise was then promoted to Recruitment Team Leader. Denise specifically looked after the Sutton Guardian and back in 2008 helped with the take over incorporating News Shopper and in 2009 Bucks, ensuring the smooth take over and running. In 2009, Denise brought the new initiative of a virtual job fair, Denise project managed this and also sold the sponsorship to the Army. Denise won Digital Sales Rep of 2009.
Rebecca joined Newsquest as a recruitment sales support executive in 2006, before taking her role as the National Web Trafficker in 2008. Rebecca is responsible for managing all National digital campaigns as well as supporting all local digital teams across the Newsquest group. Rebecca's role was vital in introducing new targeting methods such as our contextual tool and behavioural targeting, as well as delivering bespoke creatives via our adserver.
In her spare time Rebecca enjoys attending gigs, reading and socialising with her friends.
Mila joins Denise Simmons and Nikki Collins selling online display solutions to agencies across the UK and is responsible for developing and expanding the national digital revenue under the guidance of Ryan Canty Mila has previously worked across print, TV and online but is currently working on our online, mobile and tablet offering and joins us from her most recent role at the Evening Standard and Independent.
Mila was born in Bulgaria but lived most of her life in South Africa before moving to the UK to study Journalism & Advertising and Digital Marketing. After her degree she decided to settle in London and has been here ever since.
Natalia joined the team in February 2013 and is responsible for developing and expanding the national digital revenue as part Ryan Canty's team, working closely with Denise Simmons and Mila Gantcheva. Natalia came to London after completion of her Degree in Business and Events in her native Ireland. She had some brief stints in recruitment, but then moved into the local business space, selling online advertising solutions at Yelp.
Digital Recruitment Account Manager
Grant joined the digital team in January 2013 and has taken on the role of Digital Recruitment Account Manager across the UK. He will be working and liaising with media agencies and clients direct, to increase digital recruitment revenue across the group. Grant previously worked 7 years locally for Newsquest as a Media Consultant before being promoted to Recruitment Advertising Team Leader across the South London area. He’s knowledge extends to both print and online media. In he’s time he won Sales person of the year and online sales person of the year. Grant Studied Media and Communication at The Brit School, before moving to Spain as a holiday representative and later returning to further he’s media career.
Newsquest Digital senior management
Roger Green joined Newsquest in 2004. Previously MD of Emap Online for 5 years, he has held a number of senior roles in publishing and new media during a 34-year career. Reporting to Newsquest chairman and chief executive Paul Davidson, Roger is based in Harmsworth House, London.
Head of Commercial Development
Simon is Head of Commercial Development for Newsquest Digital, based at Brettenham House in Central London. He is responsible for growing the group's revenue from national and local display, jobs, homes, cars verticals. Simon believes strongly that our local media brands, alongside cutting edge technologies, are fantastically well positioned to prosper in the digital economy.
Simon received a BSc from Aberdeen University and currently lives in London with his wife. He is a keen cyclist, runner and skier.
Head of Editorial
As Head of Editorial Development at Newsquest Digital, Nigel works closely with editors from all titles to increase site traffic and encourage reader interaction, adopting a 'web-first' publishing strategy with emphasis on breaking news, local information and social media. An experienced journalist and digital manager, Nigel joined Newsquest in 2006 from the new media division of Associated Newspapers.
Head of Audience Development
James joined Newsquest in April 1997 as part of the Marketing team in Wiltshire. In December 2007 James was promoted to the role of Head of Audience Development for Newsquest Digital. His responsibilities include in-paper promotion, usability, audience analysis and optimisation.
Head of Operations
Pete joined the industry as a trainee journalist when Caxton was a lad. He rose through the ranks to edit several group titles in the Midlands before taking on an applications development role. He later developed the local IT internet strategy from 1996, before joining the National team in 2000, and was promoted to Operations Manager in 2003. Married with three sons, Pete is a passionate angler, golfer and snooker player and an avid consumer of almost any other sport.
Group Head of Mobile and Telephony
Barry joined the group in 1983. In 1994 he was put in charge of Newsquest's first voice information service and the group's dating platform "Two's Company". In 2005 he signed a premium rate number supplier agreement with Opal Telecom, part of Carphone Warehouse, and developed "Oasis™", Newsquest's fixed line and mobile services management platform.
